Song From Vacation Bible School

This is a video of Austin and Belle singing one of the songs he learned at VBS. He has since taught it to Belle and they do this over and over all day long. There of course are many other songs but this is Austin's favorite. Now when I turned on the video they didn't sing much but at least you get the arm movements. Austin acts so funny when we get him in front of the camera. Hope you enjoy.

SCARLET FEVER

A sickness I thought was from the "olden days"!! HA!! Well, poor Belle got a rash and had a low fever on Saturday. The rash was on her upper back and chest and didn't look to bad. Well, by the next day it was covering her entire body. Then, around lunch time she threw up. Well, I was obviously very worried. I called our nurse hotline and she said from what I had told her it sounded like I should be able to take care of it at home. We got her in to the doctor on Monday and she thinks it is Scarlet Fever. She said it is a strain of strep throat. She did a throat culture and it came back negative. But, she said there were so many other symptoms that she wants to go ahead and treat her for it. So, she is on antibiotics for 10 days.

I started writing this a few days ago and never finished. Belle has been on the antibiotics for 4 days now and is doing much better. She seems like herself now. Poor baby was really sick. I am so tired of all this sickness lately. I am praying that Austin won't get it now. Here is a picture of her today. It is so nice to have MY BELLE back. I hate when they feel so awful. They just aren't themselves.

Austin is doing awesome. He has been in Vacation Bible School all week and is just loving it. I will have videos to upload tomorrow because they are doing a little program for us. He just loves all of the singing and raises his hand to answer questions in front of everyone in the auditorium. Blows me away, he is usually pretty shy. Hopefully he will perform when the camera is on.

Update

Not much to report. We haven't done to much this week. The kids and I have been shopping for Ryland and Brody's birthdays. Trying to find some neat German toys for them. I took Belle to school on Wednesday and they had a sign on the door stating that one of the children from her class had come down with the chicken pox. So, she had been exposed. Luckily, she had the immunization but i think she has only had one and my neighbor said her kids got the chicken pox after they had the shot. I guess they have to have two of them in order to be sure. Well, they called the house today to say another kid now has it. So, I am wondering if it is to late to get the second at this point or to go ahead and get it. I am going to take her Monday and find out. I suppose if she does get them it wouldn't be a bad case.
Today the kids and I went through Austin's room and got rid of some stuff and really tried to get it organized. We had a thrift store bag and a trash bag. It looks so much better. Poor guy just has the smallest room EVER.
Hopefully I will have some good pictures tomorrow. We are going to a wine festival and then to a beer festival on Sunday.

Hectic Week

I still have a lot of pictures to put on this blog. Hopefully I will get them on here before Sunday. I need to show our pictures from France last Sunday. We are a bit behind do to a hectic week. Monday afternoon Austin threw up. Thankfully it was just one time but we were wondering if there would be more. It was really strange, he threw up at 3 in the afternoon, went to sleep in our bed right after and slept until 6 or 6:30, then woke up and said he was starving and wanted dinner. We told him no and he insisted. After a half hour of urging him to wait and him crying we decided to let him. He ate a ton and was perfectly fine. So wierd.
The next morning we woke up bright and early and drove to Landstuhl Hospital for me to get my skin cancer removed from my back. For those who don't know, I had a biopsy done on a mole in May and it came back as cancer. The doc was kind enough to call on my 30th birthday to give me the news. Anyways I had it removed on Tuesday. It is pretty gross looking right now but I really haven't had much pain. Took tylenol the day it was done and that was it. My reason for sharing this info is to urge everyone to PLEASE WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!!!
Today we went back to the indoor play place and the kids wore themselves out! They had a blast. We went with my friend and her four kids and her niece who is here visiting. They played until they could hardly take it any more. Hope everyone is doing great.

Trip to Mannheim

They were having a German-American Friendship Festival in Mannheim this weekend. We decided to go on Saturday and it was fun. I think we would have had more fun had we gone in the afternoon-evening time but it was fun anyways. They had a lot of fun games and rides for the kids. We checked out there PX while we were there and it was great. Here are some pics. Annabelle wanted to ride the elephant ride. So, that is her in the elephant WAY UP HIGH. She got in it and pulled the handle back to go up immediately and scared me to death. But, she was yelling look at me mommy. She LOVED IT!!! The one picture of Austin just standing there is my new FAVORITE picture. He looks so handsome if I might say so myself.

4th of July

Here are a few of our 4th of July photos. We barbequed with our friends and then went on post to watch the fireworks. They had jumpy houses and face painting and food and fun on post also. The kids had a great time. When I was putting Belle to bed she rolled over and said, "Mommy, I love my fireworks!". The cake is a cake that Austin made. HAPPY 4TH!!!

Our Big Family Trip

For those who don't know, we are missing our big family trip right now. My grandmother sends our entire family on a trip every 2 to 3 years. This includes my mom, her 4 sisters, all of there children(including me), and now all of our children. This year they got an 18 room house on a beach at the Outer Banks in NC. Well, due to our recent move across the world we are missing it this year. This is my first time missing it, even when we were in Korea we came back for the trip. Anyways, my mom just sent me this picture of my nephew Alex on the beach. There are wild horses just roaming the beach. So neat.
Also, Annabelle made it the entire night in big girl panties with no accidents. We are so proud of her. Guess we will be going to the toy store tomorrow. Austin ran a high fever yesterday and is doing a little better today. Please pray for the little guy. He had a fever virus 3 weeks ago. Ughh!!!

It's Official!!

NO MORE DIAPERS!! Here is the big girl on her potty. She is in her jammies b/c it is 8 at night in the photo. We did have to put a bow in for the photo though. She is attached to her bows. She is going to bed in her big girl panties so we will see how that goes.

SHE DID IT!!!!

I can't believe it!! Belle went to bed last night with a diaper and woke me up at 11:30 saying mommy my want go peepee my potty. Well, she really needed to go. Then, she just woke up at 8:30 this morning with a dry diaper and went in the potty. It is now, 8:58 and she just left the table from eating her breakfast and took herself potty. I am so happy. I just hope this will continue going this well.

What A Day!

This morning I realized that we were out of diapers. Well, except for what is in the diaper bag. I told Annabelle that instead of going to the store to get some we were going to wear big girl panties and start going in the potty. She agreed with excitement about the princess panties. We only had 2 accidents the whole day and she is so proud of herself. We took the potty with us everywhere we went. The afternoon was spent outside on the slip n slides and with waterguns. By afternoon I mean from 2 to 5:30. I didn't let Belle nap because I wanted the potty training to continue so at 6:30 when I heard silence from the back of the house I walked in that direction and found her passed out in the hallway floor. Sweet baby was worn out. Luckily she had eaten and had a bath. Hope you enjoy the photos of our day.

DADDY AREN'T YOU PROUD? Look at your big girl. She can't wait for you to get home to tell you all about it.
